Every day, educators and families use mobile devices as a fast and easy way to communicate and share. The Storypark for Educators Android app is having a revamp. We’re bringing that same powerful experience to your early childhood service so you will have the app’s key features at your fingertips. You can access routines from the app, save images to a draft story, view and respond to plans, create child notes and more.

Over the years, the current Storypark for Educators Android app has helped thousands of educators respond to stories, community posts and conversations. However, it’s time to boost the features available to you, as mobile devices become a valuable tool in your day-to-day work.

A powerful Android app for educators

We’re excited to announce that we are working on an updated Android version of the Storypark for Educators app. With some educators needing to switch between the website and the iOS app, this will also allow for a more consistent and faster workflow.

  1. Really excited that this update is happening, as we use android tablets at our service and it has been very frustrating not being able to access all functions when working on the floor with children.

Will similar updates be made to the parent app? We strongly encourage our families to engage with us via Storypark and most do when it comes to responding to learning stories and community posts, but they do not comment on plans because this function is not available on the app, only the website. We would really love it if our families could quickly and easily provide comments and feedback on both our group plans and their children’s Individual Learning Plans

      Hi Lauren,
Really glad to hear you are excited about the updated Android app for educators! We are getting closer to releasing a beta (an early version to gain feedback), so please let us know if you or any of your team would like to be invited to that.
Currently, our whole mobile team is working on this update, as it is a very substantial change, with double the number of features being added.
As you mentioned, from the Storypark for Families app, parents can view a whole plan. To comment on that plan, they can tap the Add a comment at the bottom of any open plan on the app. This does then open the website for them. You can see what this looks like on the app in our help centre:

I will pass your suggestion of being able to comment directly within the app onto the mobile team to look into further and consider when they make improvements there.

  2. Thanks Sonya, an invitation to the beta version would be great.
We are communicating with our families how they can access the comment function in plans as you describe. Further feedback from our families to passon to your team is that they find the plan difficult to view in the app as it doesn’t fit to screen and you can’t zoom in or out, only scroll.

    1. Really needing more features. Any estimate on when the updates might be ready? Members of my team would also be interested in being a part of providing feedback on a beta version. Could I email storypark to express interest?

  3. When is this update coming into effect, because the app is continually crashing for me today even with me reinstalling the app 5 times.
I’ve also not been able to do anything extra on the app since you posted this.

The beta version is being released soon, and invitations will be sent out to educators to use and provide feedback. If the app is crashing for you, please contact our customer team at hello@storypark.com. They will be able to look into why this is happening and help you resolve the issue.
